Tl;Dr: Found free bay leaves on our walk, here’s how to preserve them

There is nothing that smells so much like Spring as fresh Bay leaves. We found a huge pile of free bay Laurel branches on our walk last night and carried a few home. Having fresh Bay is nice, but how do you preserve them?

Lots of advice on the internet, much of which is ‘just hang them up’ – this hasn’t worked for me.in then past. This seems like better advice:

• Pick the best
• Wash them
• Dry, then freeze what you won’t use in a month

For drying, you can use an oven, a dehydrator, or the microwave! Easy peasy
