Trump’s immigration actions are unpopular

Tl;Dr: 10 out of 12 actions taken are unpopular in polls. Use this to call your reps to take action: https://5calls.org/

I’ve been starting to feel pretty disheartened – it’s easy to think that my opinion (and maybe your opinion) doesn’t count, and that we just have to sit back and take Trump’s unlawful and anti-consttututional behavior. Even worse, maybe the whole country actually believes that the best course of action is to simply snatch people off the streets and send them to concentration camps in another country and then refuse to return them when the supreme Court tells them to.

If you look more closely, most of what’s happened is unpopular (more than 50% of pilled disapprove). These two measures are tied at -14:

  • “Deport immigrants who are living in the U.S. illegally back even if they have lived here for a number of years, have jobs and no criminal record”
  • “Deporting U.S. citizens convicted of crimes to foreign prisons”

More are even less popular.

Only 2 measures are even remotely popular:

  • “An executive order declaring an emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border, promising to deploy troops, construct additional border barriers, and implement mass deportations”
  • “Deport undocumented immigrants who have been accused of committing violent crime”

So Buck Up people – it’s not that the country decided by popular demand to kidnap people and send them to a foreign gulag, even if that’s what’s you’ve heard. Keep pushing for the rule of law.
