Tl:Dr; My bike now moves forward when pedaled.
So… Big bike trip. Time to tune up the consumables: new chain. Right? Right. But, the chainring I’ve been running for many thousands of miles is acting… Weird. Like a little weird, then suddenly dropping my chain every 100 feet. Turns out it’s slightly warped. Enough that the new chain details almost every rotation.
So… New chain = new drive chain. The oldest story in the book. New sram cassette, ybn chain, fancy lube, and a wokftooth chain ring.
I had thought I’d be getting all this on the cheap since Colorado cyclist is going out of business, but even after paying for expedited shipping back in May it would not have arrived until many days from now. As in… After I leave. So, I got one from wokftooth direct. And, it’s all on and working! What a relief!
